ITWorks is a program of Tech Impact, a nonprofit founded in 2002 to support the technology needs of nonprofits. Tech Impact’s mission is to leverage technology to advance social impact.
ITWorks provides a free, immersive IT training program to young adults (high school graduates, 18-26, who have not completed a bachelor’s degree). Over 16 weeks students can earn professional IT certifications. All those who pass the classroom training portion of the program are placed into tech-related internships at area corporations and nonprofits.
This training program provides information technology and career skills for entry-level IT (Information Technology) jobs. Students will cover the fundamentals of PC hardware and software, networking, and security across a variety of devices, as well as establish best practices in troubleshooting to set the stage for IT careers. The material will prepare students for the Cisco IT Essentials certification and CompTIA A+ certification and equip students with real-world professional and communication skills.
Tech Impact is authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission as a postsecondary institution.
