Connecting the Innovation Network
The Alliance creates meaningful opportunities for people and organizations—startups, established companies, research institutions, and civic partners—to connect, collaborate, and build relationships across the region’s innovation ecosystem. We also make it easier to understand who is doing what, so community members can plug in quickly, find what they need, and refer others.
Networking Events
Through its annual forum and other gatherings, the Alliance brings together entrepreneurs, corporate innovation leaders, employers, researchers, investors, and ecosystem partners from across the region. These events help participants reconnect with partners, explore new collaborations, and align around shared innovation priorities.
Innovation Ecosystem Directory
The Alliance’s Innovation Ecosystem Directory is a shared, online resource mapping organizations that support innovation across Middle Tennessee—including startups, corporations, accelerators, universities, service providers, and civic institutions. The directory connects people, organizations, and infrastructure to help turn today’s ideas into tomorrow’s success. Community members can add listings and suggest updates to keep the directory current and reflective of a fast-growing region.
Innovation News
The Alliance’s monthly newsletter reaches more than 1,000 community leaders across industry, academia, entrepreneurship, and government. It highlights upcoming events, partner activities, and key developments shaping Nashville’s innovation economy. Community members can also follow the Alliance on LinkedIn and Twitter for real-time updates.
Preparing for What’s Next
The Alliance champions innovation as a civic and economic priority and helps align the resources needed to sustain it—from talent and capital to infrastructure and policy. We build on Nashville’s momentum by closing the narrative gap and elevating the city’s innovation assets and successes across sectors.
Telling Nashville’s Innovation Story
The Alliance advocates for innovation by revealing, connecting, and celebrating Nashville’s innovation energy across startups, corporate innovation teams, research institutions, and growing companies. Through communications campaigns, conference participation (such as SXSW’s Tennessee House), and new branding efforts, we raise awareness locally while increasing Nashville’s national visibility as a place where innovation happens at scale.
Innovation District Planning
Vanderbilt University has announced plans for an innovation neighborhood. As a founding Alliance member, Vanderbilt is leveraging the Alliance to gather feedback from companies, entrepreneurs, and community partners on the city’s most critical needs for collaborative, innovation-focused spaces that support research, commercialization, and corporate engagement.
Bringing the Best Ideas to Nashville
The Alliance hosts guest speakers, convenes webinars, and participates in delegation visits to other cities to learn and share best practices in innovation ecosystem development—bringing insights back to Nashville’s startups, employers, and institutions alike.
