The Nashville Innovation Alliance respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through nashvilleinnovationalliance.org, how we use it and when we may share it.

Information we collect

We may collect information you choose to provide through the website, including your name, email address, phone number, company or organization, industry or professional information, information submitted through contact forms, and information submitted to add or update a listing in the Innovation Ecosystem Directory.

If you subscribe to Nashville Innovation Alliance email communications, you are directed to a signup form hosted by Mailchimp. Mailchimp processes and stores subscriber information used to send Alliance emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in those messages.

When you visit the website, certain technical and usage information may also be collected automatically, such as your IP address, browser or device information, pages viewed, referring websites or URLs, general geographic information and interactions with the site. We use Jetpack, a service provided by Automattic, for website analytics, security and related site functionality. The Innovation Ecosystem Directory uses OpenStreetMap for mapping functionality.

How we use information

We may use information collected through the website to respond to questions and requests, communicate with people who contact the Alliance, review and maintain directory listings, send requested email communications, understand how visitors use the website, improve site content and functionality, protect the site from spam or abuse, and administer Alliance programs and activities.

How we share information

The Nashville Innovation Alliance does not sell, rent or trade personal information.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate the website and communications, including Mailchimp, Automattic/Jetpack and other vendors that support site functionality. When appropriate, we may also share an inquiry with an Alliance member, partner or other organization that is better positioned to respond to the request. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the website, the Alliance or others.

Innovation Ecosystem Directory

Information submitted for inclusion in the Innovation Ecosystem Directory may be published on the website as part of a public listing. This may include an organization’s name, description, website, address, phone number and other information provided for the listing. The email address of the person submitting or updating a listing is generally used to administer the submission and is not published unless it is specifically provided for public display.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, administer the website and Alliance activities, maintain appropriate records and meet applicable legal or operational requirements.
